It’s the start of a fabulous summer (we live in hope!) and Wild has just got back from Sarawak where he was bitten by the ikan bakar bug! So we’ve just bought a spanking new Weber barbque set and are raring to start tantalising your taste buds with some fantastic barbque seafood- Malaysian style!

Date : Saturday 23rd June 2012

Time : 7.30pm arrival for 8pm start

Starters:
Scallops with butter, garlic, birds eye chilli and curry leaves

Mains:
Ikan Bakar – BBQ fish topped with a tamarind, shallot and birds eye chilli dressing

Udang Bakar – Grilled King prawns with a coriander and chilli dip

Malaysian Crab curry – made to Yolanda’s secret family recipe

Malay squid sambal – Baby squid cooked in a fiery chilli, tamarind and belachan (dried shrimp) sauce

Nyonya kerabu salad – Cooling cucumber and pineapple salad

Dessert:
Chendol – A refreshing desert made with green bean jelly, cold coconut milk and shaved palm sugar
Nyonya kuih – Sweet sticky cakes in the Straits Chinese tradition

Teh tarik – Old school tea-chino!
